The Academy of African Business and Development (AABD) is pleased to announce its 27th Annual Conference, hosted by the Royal Docks School of Business and Law, University of East London, UK, from 18–22 May 2027.
Conference Theme
“Africa and Global Business Collaboration in the Era of AI: Opportunities, Challenges and Strategic Pathways.”
The conference will explore how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming African businesses, entrepreneurship, innovation, and global economic collaboration. Discussions will focus on opportunities for knowledge exchange, technology development, investment, digital skills, infrastructure, data governance, ethics, and sustainable growth.
The event will bring together scholars, practitioners, policymakers, business leaders, and students to share research, exchange insights, and develop meaningful international partnerships.
We welcome theoretical, empirical, and practice-oriented papers and abstracts from diverse disciplines, with special encouragement for doctoral students.
Join us in London in May 2027 for engaging keynote speeches, panel discussions, and valuable networking opportunities.
Should be no more than 300 words, highlighting research objectives, methodology, and key findings.
Should follow APA style and not exceed 7,000 words (including references, tables, and appendices).
Submissions are accepted in English or French.

Full paper submissions will be double blind peer-reviewed and only those meeting our high-quality standards will be published in the Conference Proceedings. Additionally, authors interested in submitting their work to the Journal of African Business (JAB), the official journal of the Academy, are encouraged to consult and adhere to the journal's submission and publication guidelines available on its official website. JAB is an internationally recognized scholarly journal with an established impact factor and is included in the ABDC Journal Quality List, providing an additional avenue for authors seeking to disseminate high-quality research on African business and related areas.

Registration fees below include a $60 AABD membership fee for participants outside Africa and a $30 annual AABD membership fee for participants based in Africa. Also included are a single paper in the proceedings, breakfasts, coffee breaks, lunches, and receptions. Authors with multiple papers will pay $120 for each additional paper to be included in the proceedings. Please note that the cost to have a paper in the proceedings without conference attendance is $200.

An official paper-acceptance confirmation letter issued by AABD will be provided to support your visa application process.
The names of all authors of accepted papers will be submitted directly to the Tunisian Embassy by the host institution to facilitate the visa process.
These visa support services are exclusively available to authors of accepted papers. Please ensure your paper is submitted and accepted before initiating the visa application process.
